Much like the rest of the Gulf region, the real estate sector as a whole, and the construction segment brings contractors from all over the world to the country, to cater to the several business opportunities available.

Although the country has recently shown signs of wanting to diversify away from the petroleum based economy for a sustainable economic future, until very recently, it was its status as an oil producer that gave it a prized status in the global business community.

Oil Based Economy

The production of oil and related industries, and the size of the economy put a great deal of emphasis on construction as well, which is often of the staple segments to be demanded from, when a country is growing rapidly.

Beyond communication networks, installation and widening of the provision of internet and telecom, roads and bridges, and improving overall travel infrastructure, construction projects in Saudi Arabia -  BNC Network also needs to invest resources and money on building more refineries and maintaining the ability to increase production to drive down the price of petroleum products, or at least manipulate it, to be able to keep its market share safe from the top competitors for its market.

Construction Of Buildings

This segment involves jobs based on a low profile, often encompassing rebuilding and refurbishing, adding or demolishing individual rooms, and limited to retaining the overall structure of the property in question.

Depending on the country and the local enforcement structure involved, this type of work will often be regulated by rules that apply to structures being built in a city. Most building control authorities for example, make it illegal for houses to add a third floor without obtaining planning permission.

The city and locality in question will often guide how construction is done as well, in terms of the items used. Where there is a shortage or stone is expensive for example, bricks may be used, or there could be a preference for solid varieties of wood, obtained locally.

The price of a property, although usually influenced by its location in a posh area, or nearness to the sea in a metropolitan city, is controlled by several other aspects as well.

This includes the materials used, whether the property was built as per the contractor or customized, and the wages of laborers.

Residential Building

The construction of residential properties depends on the country in question, varying from steel, to wood. Both are fairly adequate, since the structure on the basic level is only going to hold the concrete in place till it dries, which is when it will provide most of the support itself.

The process will involve putting together plans of the property on paper, obtaining planning permission, digging deep enough for a foundation to be laid, placing the main structure, and key panels throughout the frame.
